Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has urged authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the death of renowned TikToker Milly wa Doc, whose sudden passing has triggered widespread concern across the country.
Milly reportedly died on June 3, following complications after undergoing surgery to remove a cyst. According to her family, she experienced severe bleeding and kidney failure after the procedure. Passaris emphasized that the circumstances surrounding her death raise serious questions that demand immediate answers.
“I call upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to conduct a thorough and transparent probe. The Chief Government Pathologist, Dr Johansen Oduor, should be urgently involved,” the statement read in part.
She further pressed the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) to investigate Milly’s former partner, who is allegedly a licensed doctor, over allegations circulating online.
“I urge KMPDC to investigate the online allegations against her partner, who is reportedly a licensed medical professional. These allegations speak to possible abuse of office and failure in duty of care matters that demand immediate attention,” the MP urged.
Passaris extended her sympathy to Milly’s loved ones and followers, emphasizing the importance of justice and accountability.
“I am deeply disheartened by the tragic passing of Milly wa Doc. My heartfelt condolences go out to her children, family, and the fans who drew strength from her candid and courageous voice,” the MP said.
Milly, who was raised in Nakuru as the eldest of eight siblings, had gained a loyal following on TikTok for her honest and relatable content. Her fans admired her authenticity and openness.
In her statement, Passaris also appealed for the involvement of the Chief Government Pathologist to lead the forensic examination and ensure the findings are handled with the utmost integrity.
